Paris Fashion Week: Jean Paul Gaultier

The Jean Paul Gaultier collection for Paris Couture week was a clear tribute to the late Amy Winehouse. From the beehive hair to the winged black eyeliner, and even the beauty mark, the musician's signature look was the obvious theme of the collection.

The collection ranged from neon colored corsets to disheveled pinstripe suits and included multiple versions of the pencil skirt. The ensembles looked as though they came directly from Ms. Winehouse's closet. Pairings such as the floor length skirt, cut to reveal lace leggings, and high school varsity style jacket summed up the collection's eccentric twist.

In the second half of the collection, the models wore veils and headpieces and sported altered versions of the previous outfits. Platform lace-up wedges were seen throughout the collection, as were neon tights and oversized, eye-catching earrings.

The only thing that could have made the eclectic Couture collection come alive even more would be if the late singer was able to wear the pieces herself. Her legacy continues through Jean Paul Gaultier's Couture collection.
