Giving a nod to the "Golden Age of Shanghai," the Japanese-born dressmaker did not disappoint Thursday night at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York.
Tadashi Shoji put together a collection of gowns and dresses with classic lines and impeccable tailoring.
The dresses were a mix of Asian-inspired prints, burnt-velvet florals and velvet draping.
The gowns provided glimpses into probable future red carpet moments and served an ode to old Hollywood glamour throughout the decades.
Models' hair was upswept, perhaps as a means of keeping focus on the dresses and their intricacies.
