Following a spectacular Royal Wedding that dazzled the world on Friday, Prince William and his new wife Catherine left Buckingham Palace this morning for a weekend retreat. The Royal newlyweds will not travel overseas for a honeymoon just yet, but will spend the weekend at an undisclosed location in the UK before Prince William returns to work as a search and rescue pilot next week. Prince William wearing chinos, a shirt and jacket held hands with his new wife who was wearing a blue Zara dress paired with a dark jacket, looking very relaxed and refreshed as they boarded a helicopter in the Buckingham Palace gardens for their weekend retreat.

This morning the palace released three offical wedding photographs from the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge's nuptuials. The images were taken by Hugo Bernand in the Throne Room of Buckingham Palace on Friday afternoon – shortly after Prince William and Kate Middleton became man and wife. Yesterday, while the world waited for them to come out onto the balcony for their first kiss, they were inside taking a series of official portraits, including the one below, which features all the members of their immediate families: parents, siblings and grandparents and their little bridesmaids and page boys.

Her Royal Highness dons a white satin strapless evening gown with diamante detailing around the waist. The Duchess of Cambridge topped the look with a simple white shrug. The dress was designed by Sarah Burton who also designed Catherine's now infamous wedding gown

Catherine's V-neck gown, with a long-sleeved lace overlay, was designed by McQueen creative director Sarah Burton. Her veil was made of layers of ivory silk tulle. Catherine's royal look was completed with the Cartier 'Halo' tiara, which was made by the jewelry company in 1936. It was the bride's "something borrowed" and from the Queen. Her parents gave her the Robinson Pelham pear-shaped diamond set drop earrings that spakled with her smile.

The very private couple took center stage today as the world watched them exchange vows at Westminister Abbey and then shared their first kiss in front of THE thousands who swarmed around Buckingham Palace to get a glimpse of the newlyweds in person.
After waving to the crowd, with beaming smiles, the pair shared a quick peck while surrounded on all sides by their family. The crowd cheered and after a few minutes the young couple shared this second, slightly longer, kiss.
