Aesthetically Pleasing

As Central Indiana continues to make its name on the world stage of fashion, one group is taking steps by opening their own space.
Aesthetic Design just opened an office north of downtown Indianapolis in the Circle City Industrial Complex.
Julia Rutland has been working to expand the capabilities of Aesthetic Design for awhile. "We needed a place," she tells me over coffee. "So people would know how serious we are. We want our clients to come to us."
For Rutland and the Aesthetic Design team, clients are designers. As of now, AD's roster includes 13 fashion and accessory designers. The company aids with publicity and photo shoots, including matching up models and stylists.
"Having a space allows us a little more freedom," says Rutland, who founded Aesthetic Design three years ago.
Rutland is committed to fostering local talent; something she says is desperately needed in a city like Indianapolis. "There was nothing here," she says. "We need that talent here."
Rutland hopes to expand her client base with the new work location and perhaps take the Circle City to the next level in the eyes of the fashion elite.
