Clack, clack, clack -- the platform is back!
In black, brown, and nude this year's platforms are popular with in wood or cork. The motto seems to be, "the higher the better." Platforms and wedges tend to have wider heels and offer a bit more support, especially for the fashionista who may've spent years running or taking dance lessons in her more formative years.
These platforms are sexy, with a bit more comfort than the average stiletto heel.
Jimmy Choo's new line just hit shelves across the globe, including these "Volume" suede sandals with a wooden platform ($825).
Chloe gives it to us in the form of the cork wedge platform sandal ($690). Imagine strolling along the Champs-Élysées in these with a nude or brown raincoat and a cappuccino.
Steve Madden continues to enjoy widespread popularity with a series of wood or cork platform sandals and wedges. This season, he offers the "Egoismo." This pair has a lower heel (a paltry two inches), but still daring and fun ($100). I spy these with some flared denim or a pencil skirt.
Kentucky-born, British-inspired denim gods, rag & bone have the "Addington" wedge sandal ($395). These sandals pair suede with leather and would look amazing with a spring frock or low-rise jeans and sexy tank.
On a side note, many designers are using synthetic wood or cork materials so as to be more environmentally-conscious. Just because part of a tree looks good on your foot doesn't necessarily mean everyone else feels the same!
Be kind, fashionistas, and keep down the noise...if you dare!
